In 2026, legendary Route 66 will celebrate its 100th birthday. Millions of people have sought freedom and adventure, and often a new life, by traveling West on America’s first great highway.
In the 1950s and ‘60s, eye-catching signs guided travelers to mom-and-pop cafes for burgers and pie, to service stations for 30 cents-a-gallon gas, and to inexpensive motels for a good night’s rest. I was inspired by a recent road trip to recreate the experience of driving along Route 66 during its heyday. My new series of vibrant oil paintings and limited edition prints on canvas pay tribute to Route 66’s history and celebrate its future.
A portion of Route 66 artwork sales will support an official grant program to help revitalize and sustain Route 66 as a national and international destination. Visit https://route66roadahead.org or contact me.
