Joan Gladstone studied at Boston University's School of Fine Arts. An oil painter for more than 25 years, it brings her joy when people say her work is "colorful, beautiful and happy." Joan and her husband Ed Gillow have lived in Laguna Beach for more than 30 years. She loves painting Laguna Beach and coastal scenes and serving as a Laguna Art Museum docent.
Joan is well known for her vibrant yet serene oil paintings that capture Southern California beach life. They include classic VW buses to Ferris Wheels and lifeguard towers. Her playful paintings evoke a sense of nostalgia, while her sunsets and ocean scenes portray the beauty of the coastline. Her artwork is in the permanent collection of the City of Hope Orange County and UCI -Health, Irvine
